Down the Rabbit Hole
2-person exhibition with Kara Uzelman
330g, Saskatoon, SK
Down the Rabbit Hole was a 2-person exhibition with Kara Uzelman at 330g, Saskatoon. My work included "Disco Fantasy", which consists of videos of hip hop and krump dancers from Scarborough, ON listening to a futurist disco song from the late 1970s or early 1980s while meditating on that prompt - to imagine a future that they'd like to inhabit. The dancer's "future imaginings" are experienced by the viewer in the form of minute body language produced while they listen. Alongside the videos were a series of wall drawings based on images found on the internet that straddle the grey area between utopia and dystopia.
